The identities of Senators elected on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) set to defect to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have been revealed. Northern Groups Back Zoning Of 2023 Presidency To Southeast
A coalition of northern groups has backed the idea of the 2023 presidency in Nigeria getting zoned to the south-eastern part of the country. According to the group known as the umbrella of Arewa Concerned Civil Society Organisations of Nigeria, it submitted that the presidency going to the southeast region will calm the agitations coming from that region including those coming from the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
The spokesperson of the group, Abdulsalam Kazeem made the submission on Monday during a press conference where he argued that zoning the presidency to the southeast is the best option in the interest of equity, fairness, and justice.

Senate Passes N66.9bn Police Trust Fund Budget
The Nigerian Senate has passed the N65.905bn budget of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund for the year 2022. The trust fund is made up of personnel expenditure of N948.81m, total overhead costs of N8.857bn and total capital expenditure of N56.099bn.
The Senate passed the budget on Wednesday after a harmonised report of its Committee on Police Affairs and that of the House of Representatives was adopted.
The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Police Affairs, Senator Halliru Jika while presenting the report revealed that the revenue sources for the proposed budget as: 0.
