Manchester United young lad who plays from the midfielder, Maximilian Oyedele, has decided he will play internationally for Poland.
The teenage player dumped Nigeria and England and committed his future to the Polish national team.
The development was disclosed in a statement on Thursday by Maciej Chorazyk, the head of foreign scouting Poland Football Association.
Naija News understands that Oyedele, a first-year scholar at Man United, is eligible to represent Poland through his mom, Nigeria through his father, and England, where he was born.
He made his international debut on Wednesday as Poland U18s played a 2-2 draw against Switzerland in a non-binding game.
The Anglo-Polish-Nigerian youngster could have made his debut for the Poland youth team earlier, but he did not have a Polish passport and the COVID-19 pandemic was another stumbling block.
“Maxi has an ID card and a Polish passport. He speaks Polish poorly but understands a lot,” Chorazyk told WP SportoweFakty.
“In this case, we watched him all the time and were close to him.
“I don’t see an option for him to want to change to a different representation. He wants to play for us.
“This is a multi-functional player who can play in the six and eight.”
Meanwhile, Leicester City and Super Eagles forward, Ademola Lookman said he care less about the rivalry between Nigeria and Ghana as he will approach the game like another game.
Speaking to Naija News after the team’s morning session, he said he will go out there to enjoy himself.
He said: “I’m not scared whatsoever it’s another game to me, that’s how i look at it”
“And to go out there to enjoy myself & have no worries”
Lookman will earn his first cap if he plays against Ghana on Friday.
