Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot has asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to disband his entire Cabinet over a series of inefficiencies witnessed recently.

The senator claimed Cabinet Secretaries in Uhuru’s government were busy politicking instead of dealing with issues affecting the common citizens on the ground.

Cheruiyot was speaking to NTV in a morning show on Tuesday, October 1.

“I think President Kenyatta and Ruto should disband the Cabinet. I cannot think of a CS who is not politically active currently,” the Kericho leader said.“Farmers are uprooting tea and coffee due to low prices and we have not heard from agriculture CS Mwangi Kiunjuri. Eight children died at Precious Talent School, CS Magoha should tell us who was supposed to inspect that school, and what he has done with them,” Cheruiyot added.

Cheruiyot further slammed Transport CS James Macharia over what he termed laxity in office yet victims of the Likoni Ferry tragedy were yet to be retrieved.

“I cannot believe Macharia is still comfortable in his office 48 hours after the tragedy. Somebody has to be held to account,” he said.

A section of citizens agreed with him saying government officers were only in office to eat.

“This is the country of dog eat dog society where people lavish in hotel but they don't work duly,” said one Leon Maxwell.“Kenya is a failed state,” added Kelvin Mwendiah.
